FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LACP HAILS THE TOP ANNUAL REPORTS OF 2011

Vast majority of reports maintain a high-caliber presentation in light of
challenging economic conditions while also avoiding superfluous elements.

SAN DIEGO – 9 July 2012 – League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP), an organization dedicated to supporting, recognizing and advancing excellence in the practice of professional communications, today released the results of this year’s annual report competition, the 2011 Vision Awards.

“The 2011 Vision Awards drew an unprecedented number of submissions representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes,” said Tyson Heyn, Principal of LACP. “More than 5,500 entries were submitted, representing upwards of two-dozen countries and 800 entities, so competition was exceptionally tough.  Winners demonstrated an outstanding focus on shareholders, their interests, and their need to understand the strategic and tactical decisions their companies are making.”

JUDGING PROCESS

Through several hundred hours of judging, LACP identified winners within peer-level competition classes.  Competition classes were established to create the most level playing field possible between entries.  They were determined according to company size, annual revenue, and other pertinent factors.  Scores were derived according to a proprietary judging system developed by LACP, which assigns point values to various criteria of an entry.  A composite score, based on a 100-point scale, was then determined by summing the results of all judging criteria.

The entry with the highest total score within its competition class was presented with the Platinum Award.  The entries with the second-, third-, and fourth-highest total scores within their competition class garnered the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards, respectively.  In the event of a tie, multiple awards were distributed per award level.  Honors were earned by entries not scoring within the top four award levels of any given competition class but achieving a minimum score of 90.  Top 100 awards were given to the highest-scoring entries regardless of competition class.  Ties are broken by weighting various judging criteria according to overall importance.

LACP’s Print, Video & Web Communications Competition, the 2012 Spotlight Awards, is currently underway.  The Competition's Call for Entries ends 14 September 2012 (28 September 2012 with late fee).
