Company Name: American Specialty Health Situational Analysis:
Project Name: “Engage! Creative Group: The Marketing Communications Arm of American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH)” ASH's marketing department works entirely in-house to produce high-quality work, as is often found at large health plans, at a fraction of the budget. Over the course of the year, we actively promote events and programs through a series of engaging posters, table tents, break room fliers, and our corporate intranet. We also approach our marketing objectives through media relations (pitching story ideas on wellness to the media, ghostwriting articles for our CEO, and issuing press releases on new business as well as general health improvement topics), promotions to a diverse audience (materials aimed at various industries and demographics including older adults, children, Latin American populations, etc.), and employee events. Our awards exemplify the work we do both for our clients and for our employees, and they help increase our visibility in the wellness industry. Our press helps secure ASH as a leader in the field as well. ASH marketing has received over 1,200 media hits in the last five years.
Key Achievement(s): ▪ The creation of our award-winning, proprietary "How to Build a Fit Company" Employer Guide: This catalog features more than 1,200 posters, fliers, tent cards, articles, letters, email blasts, etc. that employers may order from ASH to promote our program and create a culture of health in the workplace

▪ Producing the first ever Healthyroads ?Fit Company? awards to recognize clients that have been successful in providing superior worksite wellness programs: Eleven companies were recognized in 2009, and the subsequent press coverage has helped position ASH as a leader in worksite wellness

▪ Creation, implementation and promotion of a broad new range of programs to remind ASH staff that the company is truly committed to the health and well-being of our employees: Throughout the year, ASH marketing promotes unique health improvement challenges with fun prizes to get employees excited about participating. Challenges include a holiday weight maintenance challenge, a Polar heart rate monitor challenge, and a ?Go Green With Your Routine? environmentally-friendly physical challenge. These also provide our Wellness Consulting department the opportunity to try out a number of different activities on our own staff before rolling them out to our clients.
