Project Highlights:

Company Name: FD Situational Analysis:
Project Name: “290% Great Than Expected: A Campaign to Maximize Returns to Enron's Creditors” In August 2007, Enron's board of directors for the bankrupt estate engaged FD to build a significant litigations communications campaign to highlight its multi-billion dollar lawsuit against Citigroup - the greatest liability to Enron's creditors in the largest bankruptcy in history.

Enron recognized that the estate distribution could not be finalized until Citigroup settled or the courts rendered judgment. However, the latter could take years, preventing creditors from accessing billions of dollars. In an unprecedented intersection of legal and corporate communications, FD successfully developed and executed this campaign to exert pressure on Citigroup to reach settlement and maximize creditor returns.

Key Achievement(s): ▪ Helped secure an unprecedented settlement in the Citigroup litigation for a record $1.66 billion.

▪ Facilitated the return of more than $21 billion to creditors -- 290% more than the estimated amount.

▪ Developed and executed a successful media and communications strategy that helped shape results.
